Services
Six areas of live production work, how they compare, what shapes a quote and the questions clients ask before booking a crew.
Live production services for television and streaming
starlumki designs, staffs and runs control rooms and live shows. Our work covers multi-camera switching, gallery fit-outs, streaming workflows, festival coverage, real-time video operation and production management. You can book one service on its own or combine several for a single event.
Multi-camera switching
Experienced vision mixers cut live feeds from several cameras into a clean, well-paced programme.
Control room design and fit-out
We plan and build production galleries with sensible layouts, signal routing and comfortable operator positions.
Live streaming production
Full streaming workflows from camera to platform, including encoding, graphics and stream monitoring.
Festival and concert broadcast
Mobile production crews cover stages and screens for festivals, concerts and party events.
Real-time video operation
Operators handle replay, graphics, playout and screen feeds during live shows.
Production management
Producers and technical managers coordinate crews, schedules and cues for television and streaming shoots.
Tell us the venue, the number of cameras and the output you need. Scope is agreed in conversation first, and nothing is priced until we understand the show.
ContactMulti-camera switching or a full streaming production
Many clients ask whether they need a switching crew alone or a complete streaming workflow. The answer depends on where the picture ends up and how much of the chain you already have in place.
| What to consider | Multi-camera switching | Live streaming production |
|---|---|---|
| Main focus | Cutting between cameras into a well-paced programme feed for a broadcaster or screen. | Taking the programme from camera to viewer, including encoding and delivery to the platform. |
| Where the output goes | Into your own gallery, recording, venue screens or an outside broadcast feed. | Onto an online platform, with the stream monitored for the whole event. |
| Graphics and captions | Handled with the operators and equipment already in the gallery. | Planned in advance as part of the workflow and run live alongside the stream. |
| Crew involved | Vision mixer, and camera operators where required. | Streaming producer plus technical support for encoding and monitoring. |
| Best suited to | Concerts, studio shows and events with a gallery already available. | Conferences, launches and events where the audience is mostly online. |
Some shows need both. If you are unsure, describe the event and where viewers will watch, and we will suggest the lighter setup that still covers it.
What a proposal includes and what shapes it
Every job starts with a short conversation about the show. From that we write a proposal that lists crew, equipment and the hours covered, so you can see what is included before agreeing to anything.
What is included
A proposal names the roles on the day, the equipment each role uses and the hours the crew is on site. It states whether setup, rehearsal and derig are part of the booking. Where a producer or technical manager is involved, their role is described in plain terms. If we supply gallery equipment, the list is written out so nothing is assumed. Anything not listed is raised with you before the day, not after.
What affects the quote
The number of cameras and the length of the show matter most. Venue access, outdoor conditions and the time needed to set up before doors open also change the plan. Graphics, replay and streaming add operators and equipment. A fit-out depends on the size of the room, the signal routing needed and how many operator positions are required. We talk through these points rather than applying a fixed rate.
What we need from you
Useful details include the venue, the schedule, the run of show and the output you want, whether a stream, a recording or screens. A site visit or a call with your technical contact often saves time later. Tell us about any existing equipment we should work with. The earlier we have the running order and cue list, the calmer the day tends to be.
